Overview |
How many times have we heard a child ask "is this real?" or "how do you know?" This pathfinder can help you and your keiki answer those questions together! And because today's middle schoolers are back in the 90s trend, let's give them a series of books we loved "back when they were our age".
In this slightly non-conventional pathfinder, we will use color-coding to link a work from the Dear America series to works for adults in the hopes of providing families with wonderful discussions on the topic of American History. The Dear America series is a collection of 43 juvenile fiction novels, written as diaries, each focusing on a specific event in American history. Additionally, the companion series My America and My Name is America focus on American history subjects. Young readers who like these books may also enjoy the Royal Diaries series, which focus on the childhoods of historical figures such as Princess Kaʻiulani, Queen Victoria, and Grand Duchess Anastasia Mikhailovna of Russia. |
